Russell Brand reportedly turned down a request to film a special message for Friday's last ever edition of Big Brother.

The comedian, who fronted spinoff show Big Brother's Big Mouth from 2004 to 2007, said that he was "too busy" to record a goodbye, according to The Sun.

A source said: "It's a poor performance. It would have taken him all of a few minutes to record something for us."

Former Big Brother's Little Brother host Dermot O'Leary, who returned on Friday for a one-off programme marking the end of the Channel 4 reality show, said that it was a "privilege" to be a part of the series.
