You already know that Peter Capaldi's Doctor will make an appearance in upcoming Doctor Who spinoff Class, but don't be thinking it'll be packed with cameos.
Speaking at the BBC America panel at New York Comic-Con, writer Patrick Ness said that, um, well. Cameos are like penises. Bear with him.
"I think cameo appearances are like penises," CBR.com quotes him as telling the audience.

"If you put it in the scene, it's all people are going to look at."
Oh! That makes more sense. A bit.

"So you have to have it there for a really, really good reason… I don't want anything to take away from the story."
While he won't be throwing all your favourite Who characters in the mix, Ness seemed more than a bit excited about having that world at his fingertips.
"It's the best toy box in the world," he said.
"We've got some really great, really creepy monsters. We've got some that do unexpected things and play unexpected roles.
"I love the idea that if you don't have the Doctor around, sometimes you might face an alien that you'll never know the name of, you'll never know their motivation.
"You'll just have to deal with whatever it is."
Capaldi's Doctor will appear in the first episode of Class and has already popped up in the trailers for the spinoff.
Ness previously promised fans something "funny, moving, exciting, scary, sexy" and "true, I hope, to what teenagers feel like their lives are".
You've already seen a teaser of Coal Hill School's Miss Quill, played by Katherine Kelly.
