As with every Sunday, it was time for another Strictly Come Dancing contestant to say farewell to the show.

This week, it was the turn of Graeme Swann to bow out after facing Ashley Roberts in the dance-off.

Graeme and partner Oti Mabuse's Quickstep to The Andrews Sisters' 'Sing Sing Sing' was deemed no match for Ashley and partner Pasha Kovalev's Samba to Arrow's 'Hot Hot Hot', with all four judges choosing to save the latter.

However, while viewers may not have disagreed with the result, they took issue with judges Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood's choice of words in sending Graeme home.

Bruno was typically honest in his appraisal, saying: "No disrespect but it's evident. Overall much much stronger on every level, come on, it's Ashley. Ashley and Pasha."

Craig, for his part, said: "For me it's a no brainer and the couple I'd like to save, Ashley and Pasha."

Viewers were mainly upset at the fact that Roberts comes from a professional dance background (something the former Pussycat Doll defended before the show started), which made Craig and Bruno's comments seem a bit, well, mean.

"There was a time when graham [sic] would've made the final and professional dancers were not part of the celeb line up," said one. "Wonderful to see Graham and Oti so gracious after Craig and Bruno so unnecessarily rude."

Graeme was gracious in defeat however, ending his time on the show with a slick moonwalk. The former England spinner, who Oti described as epitomising the "spirit" of the show, will surely be missed.

Strictly Come Dancing will continue next Saturday (December 1) with Musicals Week at 6.50pm on BBC One, with the results show following on Sunday (December 2) at 7.20pm.
