When you put Piers Morgan against outspoken and controversial vegan activist Joey Carbstrong on Good Morning Britain for a debate on whether eating animals is right, you're never going to get anything in the way of nuance or subtlety.
The pair clashed almost instantly on today's show, as Piers brought up Joey's previous life in a gang, and the incident where he was arrested for having a firearm on his person.
"Oh, a character attack?" Joey retorted, catching on to what Piers was doing. "Has this got anything to do with the topic at hand?"
The host also tried to undermine any of the pro-vegan points by saying that the "national drink" of tea tasted rubbish with soy milk, and that his problem wasn't with vegans, but the "terrorism" of activists who claimed that anyone who ate meat was "a murderer".
He also brought up a 2016 video in which Joey said dairy farmers should "kill yourselves".
Joey explained that he no longer stands by that statement and has publicly renounced it.

Carbstrong recently appeared on Jeremy Vine's BBC Radio 2 show, where he again ended up clashing with his interviewer.
He did manage to get Vine to not eat a ham and cheese sandwich he was planning to have for lunch though, which we imagine is more than he got Piers to do.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV at 6am.
