Ever since it was announced that Joel Fry was leaving ITV2 comedy Plebs, fans have been wondering how the show would deal with writing out his character Stylax.
Well, it didn't take long for the new series of the sitcom to take care of that elephant in the room tonight (April 9). In fact, it didn't even wait for the opening titles.

In the pre-credit sequence of the series four premiere, Stylax got killed off thanks to a falling slab. So that means he's not making a cameo in a Christmas special, then.
As you would expect, fans were divided on the very final exit of a main character.
Some were annoyed with how it was handled, others found it funny, while people generally thought the show was just as funny without him.
There was no bad blood among the cast either, with Joel Fry also tweeting about the episode's airing.
Fry played Stylax in the first three series of the BAFTA-winning Roman sitcom. He's been replaced by Jonathan Pointing, who joins as happy-go-lucky builder Jason this series.
Tom Rosenthal (Marcus) and Ryan Sampson (Grumio) are still in the show, as are Doon Mackichan (Flavia), Karl Theobald (Landlord), Tom Basden (Aurelius), Tom Davis (Davus) and Maureen Lipman (Landlady).
Word is there'll be a few special guest stars in the new episodes as well, including Made in Chelsea's Ollie Locke, 8 Out of 10 Cats captain Aisling Bea and Annette Badland (Slitheen Margaret Blaine from Doctor Who).
Plebs airs Monday nights at 10pm on ITV2.
