We can probably all agree that 2017 has been an all-round dumpster fire. The past month alone has aged us all by several years. But there are still a few pure things left in this world, and one of them is the Japanese game show Slippery Stairs.
Slippery Stairs is exactly what it sounds like. It is a show in which six contestants wearing multicoloured skintight body suits all try to climb a slippery staircase in front of a live audience.
Emotions run high on those slick, gooey stairs. Many people come close to completing the Sisyphean challenge, but few make it to the slippery summit. There are excellent sound effects for when the contestants inevitably fall. This is a perfect show.
It is also a tribute to the indomitable resilience of the human spirit, and in many ways a metaphor for being alive. And of course, the internet is living for it.
