One of the final Christmas adverts of the year has finally arrived. Welcome to the ring, Sainsbury's.

The supermarket launched its advert during Sunday's (November 12 episode of ) The X Factor, showcasing a newly-written song, a couple of celebrity cameos and plenty of Brussels sprouts.

In a departure from previous years, the retailer has extended it's black and white 'Living well' adverts that have been running all year long.

"Living well has been at the heart of our advertising all year and there is no better time to celebrate that than at Christmas," said Laura Boothby, who's head of broadcast communications at Sainsbury's.

"There are so many rituals and moments that makes each person's Christmas special and we wanted to feature as many of these as possible – and all set to a catchy festive tune."

What to Read Next

The only similarity to last year's Sainsbury's advert is that it features another song, called 'Every Bit of Christmas', that will inevitably get stuck in your head. However, this year it isn't performed by James Corden but real people from across the UK, including Sainsbury's colleagues.

As well as the 200 real people that fill the 90-second advert, there are two celeb cameos: The Royle Family's Ricky Tomlinson sings along about TV specials and then Kermit the Frog chimes in about Christmas movies.

The advert, which also features an appearance by a singing dog from Tottenham, was directed by French duo We Are From LA. They're best known for directing Pharrell Williams' 'Happy' video, which almost has one billion views on YouTube.

The ad will also be rolled out across Sainsbury's social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.
