It's not only bands like Steps and B*Witched who are marking their 20th anniversary.

Melanie Sykes has revealed that she is teaming up again with Boddingtons two decades after she starred in those iconic adverts, which ended up launching her TV career.

"Guess what you lot I have some extremely exciting news I want to share with you. I am being reunited with my old muckers Boddingtons Bitter," Melanie announced on Instagram.

"After twenty years we are going to shoot a brand new commercial !!!! So happy and excited I cannot even begin to tell you."

She added in another photo from the Publican Awards that she was "grinning like a Lancashire cat" at the prospect of doing another advert: "I am buzzing and so happy to be part of the team. Brings back good memories."

After Melanie starred in the series of adverts, she landed hosting roles on The Big Breakfast and Today with Des and Mel, as well as becoming a Loose Women panellist in 2005, staying on the show until 2013.

She also had a reality TV outing when she came third in I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2014.

Last year, Melanie opened up about her divorce from Jack Cockings. "It's silly to say I'll never be in a relationship," she explained.

"I can laugh about it now, too. It was painful at the time and you know when you can laugh about something and tease yourself about something, you're fine. And I really, really am…"
