There's only one more week of The Missing left, so fans are working overtime to solve the case before Detective Julien Baptiste can.

Tonight's episode offered a few pivotal answers (Alice is alive!) and yet raised even more questions by flashing back to 1991-era Iraq for a solid chunk of the episode.

For example, is Gettrick playing a long game of revenge after being deserted by Nadia all those years ago? And what happened to Lena Garber, the girl who went missing along with Sophie and Alice?

"But with this one, the way people react... there's all these blogs coming up with theories and people thinking they are my colleagues and investigators themselves!

"There are some theories that are completely goofy - very extreme. And some are really smart and subtle!"

The Missing reaches its sure-to-be stunning conclusion next Wednesday (November 30) at 9pm on BBC One.
