The Missing fans have been fairly divided on series two's interweaving timelines and kidnapping story, but they all agree on one thing: creepy kidnapper Adam Gettrick is the worst.

Derek Riddell's devious army press officer gave us the full monty of disturbing behaviour on Wednesday (November 16), menacing Alice (Abigail Hardingham) in their dodgy shack and making even haircuts seem repulsive.

With detective Julien Baptiste getting closer and closer to discovering the truth about Alice/Sophie in spite of his own personal demons, fans are begging for Gettrick to get his comeuppance. (Warning: NSFW tweets below)

"On the first series, there was a lot of interactivity from the audience," he told Digital Spy. "But with this one, the way people react... there's all these blogs coming up with theories and people thinking they are my colleagues and investigators themselves!

"There are some theories that are completely goofy - very extreme. And some are really smart and subtle!"

The Missing continues next Wednesday (November 23) at 9pm on BBC One as Julien gets one step closer to learning the truth behind Sophie and Alice's kidnappings.
