Does Matt Lucas know that Twitter is a public forum? Possibly not.

The comedian and actor will be reviving his role as Nardole in the next series and upcoming Christmas special of Doctor Who, and Whovians have spotted something that Steven Moffat and co had yet to officially reveal.

The Little Britain star cryptically tweeted at writer Jamie Mathieson last week, so it doesn't take too much to put two and two together and conclude that Mathieson is back on board for series 10.

Lucas tweeted at the writer Jamie Mathieson: "love love love your script."

While the wordsmith didn't respond, Mathieson has history with Who. He previously penned Peter Capaldi episodes 'Mummy on the Orient Express' and 'Flatline', and co-wrote 'The Girl Who Died' with Moffat.

For Moffat's final series as showrunner, Lucas and Capaldi will be joined by new companion Bill (Pearl Mackie) and fan favourite Missy (Michelle Gomez).

While we know Capaldi is 100% on-board for the coming series, there's already speculation this could be his last in the TARDIS - but nothing's confirmed just yet.

Doctor Who will return this Christmas for a superhero-inspired special on BBC One.
