We're still eagerly awaiting the arrival of 'proper Top Gear', when The Grand Tour comes to Amazon Prime Video in November.

But now rumours have emerged suggesting Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May could be back on TV after all, as some reports have suggested that Amazon could look to sell the show after it's been unleashed on their streaming service.

Jay Marine, the European chief of Amazon Prime Video, previously said they had "no interest" in sub-licensing the show, but now sources have suggested to Business Insider UK that there might be a backup plan in place, with ITV rumoured to be among "a host of broadcasters" interested in airing the show.

The sources suggested Amazon had agreed to work with talent agency IMG – who look after Jezza and co – to license out The Grand Tour in something called "second window rights". This option would mean that Amazon could decide to never share the Grand Tour goodness, if they wanted.

However, Digital Spy has since spoke to Amazon and they've totally refuted the claims. They told us that: "This is an Amazon Prime exclusive show, we have no plans to sell rights to other broadcasters in the UK."

The previous reports had flagged that IMG is part of US talent shop WME-IMG, who has previously sold Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie's The Night Manager to around 188 countries.

Plus there's still quite a few countries that don't have access to Amazon Prime, with the service only being available in US, UK, Germany, Austria, and Japan at present.

But for now, the only way to hitch a ride on The Grand Tour will be to sign up for an Amazon Prime account, while we all wait for the show to land on Amazon Prime on November 18.
