Might a Life on Mars movie actually happen at some point?

Philip Glenister and John Simm - stars of the time-travelling cop drama - have apparently been chatting about the likelihood of such a project.

"I'd do [a reunion]. Yeah, you bet," Glenister gleefully told the Radio Times.

"John and I were talking about it a while ago and I think he'd be up for it. Maybe to do a Life on Mars movie in some form, if we could find an angle – I think we'd be up for that, for sure."

Philip Glenister famously played badass cop Gene Hunt in both Life on Mars and its spinoff Ashes to Ashes in one of the defining roles of his long career.

His co-star John Simm famously quit Life on Mars ahead of what was intended to be a third and final series - a decision he lived to regret.

His departure led to the creation of spinoff Ashes to Ashes, which aired from 2008 to 2010.
