Michelle Keegan is starring in her first sex scene in series three of ITV2's Plebs... and she's not opposed to doing more of them.

The former Coronation Street actress is playing a Vestal Virgin named Ursula alongside Joel Fry's character Stylax in the comedy, set in Ancient Rome.

Keegan told The Sun: "It was fine, actually. I was playing it with Joel and he was so lovely.

"It was nerve-racking but he was so relaxed and calm that it helped me. Then afterwards I was like, 'Is that it?'

"It was really nothing to be bothered about. Now I can say I've been in a sex scene and it was actually quite fun."

In her steamy scene, Ursula asks Stylax if he wants to "f**k in the cloister", before accidentally putting out the sacred flame while they're at it.

When asked if she would take on more love scenes in the future, Keegan said: "I certainly wouldn't mind doing it again if it was a role like that. I wouldn't be as nervous!"

And fortunately, husband Mark Wright didn't mind either.

"Mark was fine about it," she said. "He knows Plebs - he's a big fan actually. So he knew what I had to do in it and thought it was really funny."

Meanwhile, Keegan will be starring as Corporal Georgie Lane in the second series of Our Girl.

Plebs, which also stars Tom Rosenthal and Ryan Sampson, returns to ITV2 on April 4.
