Miriam Margolyes returns to the world of Doctor Who as a new character.
The Call the Midwife star first appeared on the beloved BBC sci-fi show as the voice of alien Beep the Meep in last year's Christmas special 'The Star Beast'.
Now, Margolyes has joined the cast of Classic Doctors New Monsters: Faithful Friends, a boxset comprised of four brand-new audio adventures featuring classic Doctors and aliens from the most recent series of the show.

The star will play a Lupari soothsayer in 'The Dying Breed', an episode seeing the Fourth Doctor crossing paths with the Lupari, the canine humanoid species first introduced in 'The Halloween Apocalypse' of season 13.
'The Dying Breed' also stars Tom Baker as the Doctor, Louise Jameson as Leela and John Leeson as K9.

The other episodes in the boxset are 'The Krillitane Feint' and 'The Krillitane Relic', seeing the Second and Seventh Doctors up against the Krillitane, and 'Five Hundred Ways to Leave Your Lover', a queer romcom featuring an unusual meeting between the Eighth Doctor and the Monks.

'The Dying Breed' screenwriter Tim Foley, who also penned 'Five Hundred Ways to Leave Your Lover', reflected on writing for the Lupari and the Monks.
"My two stories in this box set couldn't be more different. It was so fun writing for the Lupari," Foley said in a statement.
"We get to visit their homeland and meet them at a much earlier point of their development. It's a medieval epic, with a fun role for K9 and new lore that got the approval of [Flux showrunner] Chris Chibnall.
"The Monks are such a mysterious race, so of course the best way to explore them further is in a screwball comedy," he continued. "This is a gay romcom with the Eighth Doctor, and I can't wait to hear what people make of it. You're all invited to the wedding.”
Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
