Channel 4 has announced The Couple Next Door will return for a second series.
Season one of the couple-swap drama aired in November 2023 and starred Outlander's Sam Heughan and Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson.
The series proved a streaming success for the broadcaster, achieving more than one million streams in the first seven days.
Channel 4 have now greenlit a second series with a new star cast leading the action, including The Split star Annabel Scholey. Joining Scholey in season 2 is The Princess Switch star Sam Palladio, The Witcher's Aggy K Adams and Sendhil Ramamurthy of One Piece and Never Have I Ever fame.

Outnumbered actor Hugh Dennis, who starred in the first series, is confirmed to reprise his role as Alan for the second outing.

Filming on the follow-up season is currently underway in Belgium with the new storyline taking place in a similar cul-de-sac setting.

Heart surgeon Charlotte Roberts (Scholey) and her husband Jacob (Palladio), a consultant anaesthetist, are a high-flying professional couple whose lives are turned upside down after mysterious new hospital colleague Mia (Adams) moves into the house next door.
"Working her way into Charlotte and Jacob’s confidence and eventually their bed, Mia also quickly befriends cul-de-sac outcast Alan (Dennis) whilst Charlotte has to handle the reappearance of past flame Leo (Ramamurthy)," teases the official show synopsis.
"However, it’s not long before Mia’s past comes back to haunt her, leading Charlotte and Jacob to question who she really is, especially when patients at the hospital mysteriously start dying. But one thing is clear, giving into desires can have deadly consequences…"
The Couple Next Door season two is written by Marcella's David Allison with Suspect's Dries Vos signed on to direct.
The Couple Next Door is available to stream now on Channel 4. There is currently no release date for season 2.
