LBC has confirmed Carol Vorderman's replacement following her departure from her show.

The Countdown legend revealed earlier this month that she had decided to cut down on work following a recent health scare.

The station has now confirmed that Vanessa Feltz will replace Vorderman in her Sunday radio slot, having previously stood in for the presenter, and will also continue her regular Saturday show.

"I can’t wait to be a weekend appointment to listen," Feltz said. "I’m looking forward to holding Britain’s biggest and most spirited conversation with my lovely LBC listeners every Saturday and Sunday afternoon."

LBC’s senior managing editor Tom Cheal added: "Vanessa has quickly made her mark on the LBC schedule since she joined the station in May.

Vorderman joined LBC earlier this year, having departed from her BBC Radio Wales show at the end of 2023.

Opening up about her decision to exit LBC in October, she explained: "After working 7-day weeks for as long as I can remember, I finally burned out just over 2 weeks ago and I ended up overnight in hospital. Luckily, after many scans and checks, we know that I don't have any underlying health issues whatsoever.

"So, after a proper talking to from my family and my buddies, I've taken the health scare as a warning sign to slow down slightly and have decided to cut my work back to weekdays for now. It pains me to have to do it, but I’ve decided not to carry on with my Sunday show on @LBC."

The star admitted she was "fed up" over her decision, as she found her show "really lively and a total joy, with so many new callers from around the country and growing numbers of listeners".

However, she assured fans that she will "still be part of the LBC family" from "time to time" and thanked the broadcaster for their "extraordinary support".

"I'll be continuing to make a lot of mischief and call out corruption and wrongdoing - that isn't stopping but for now an ever so slightly less frenetic chapter begins. Love ya," Vorderman concluded.
