The espionage political thriller, which is currently in production in London, is being executive produced by Fassbender, George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Joe Wright. Wright is also directing the show's first two episodes.
In other news, Bonneville will soon return to the big screen as Mr Brown in Paddington in Peru, which arrives in UK cinemas next month.
The anticipated third film in the Paddington franchise will see the beloved bear travel back to Peru with the Brown family in tow, though Emily Mortimer will be playing Mrs Brown instead of Sally Hawkins.
Recently speaking to Empire about the recast, Bonneville said: "We're not pretending it's anything other than a straight swap. There has not been a hideous divorce or anything. Emily just seemed like a perfect fit."
The Agency is yet to receive a release date. Paddington in Peru will be released in UK cinemas on November 8, 2024, and in US cinemas on January 17, 2025.
