A new Pride and Prejudice series is reportedly in development at Netflix.
According to Variety, the Jane Austen classic is being adapted for the streaming service, with the screenplay being written by Everything I Know About Love author Dolly Alderton.
The project is in the early development stages and hasn't been greenlit yet by Netflix - with no cast currently attached.

Austen's 1813 romance novel has been adapted for screen several times over the years, with one famous adaptation being the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley and Succesion's Matthew Macfadyen.
10 years prior, the BBC also drew in large audiences with their 1995 TV miniseries, which saw Colin Firth play Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle appearing as Elizabeth Bennet.
What to Read Next
Pride and Prejudice centres on eldest Bennet sister Elizabeth, who has a chance encounter with a wealthy aristocrat named Fitzwilliam Darcy - though it isn't exactly love at first sight for either.

As time progresses, the two protagonists find their paths repeatedly crossing and soon learn to overcome their pride and former prejudices for real love.
It's not the first time Netflix has reproduced a Jane Austen classic, with her 1817 novel Persuasion being adapted into a film in 2022 starring Madame Web and Fifty Shades of Grey's Dakota Johnson.
A Pride and Prejudice series will mark the second screenplay for author Dolly Alderton, who previously adapted her 2018 memoir Everything I Know About Love into a BBC miniseries of the same name. The show aired in 2022 starring Bel Powley and Emma Appleton.
Alderton is also the author of fiction books Ghosts (2020) and Good Material (2023).
The BBC's 1995 Pride and Prejudice series is available to watch on iPlayer now.
