Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders and SAS Rogue Heroes, has a new Netflix drama on the way – with James Norton (Happy Valley) leading the cast.
Once again delving into a specific point in history, Knight's House of Guinness will be set across 19th-century Dublin and New York and focus on the family behind the famous brewery.
The official synopsis reveals that the eight-part drama will "reimagine the period immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness".
It was revealed in July that the series – for which Steven Knight has both writing and executive producer credit – is now in production. Since then the show has started filming.
The latest update was shared by Norton during an exclusive interview with Digital Spy, where he revealed that the cast was "having an absolute ball making" House of Guinness.
He also spoke about getting his Dublin accent right for his role, while adding that other members of the cast were helping him.

But when will the show be out, and what else can we expect? Here's everything you need to know about House of Guinness, coming to Netflix.
Who is in the cast of Netflix's House of Guinness?
Steven Knight's new drama will bring together many popular and familiar faces from BBC and ITV dramas, as well as previous Netflix hits.
James Norton will take on the role of Sean Rafferty, while Jack Gleeson (perhaps best known for his breakout role as Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones, and more recently making a cameo in Sex Education's final season) will play Byron Hedges.
Seamus O'Hara, from the BBC's popular crime drama Blue Lights, and Michael McElhatton, seen in ITV's The Long Shadow, have also joined the project.

Emily Fairn (star of BBC's The Responder as well as Black Mirror's critically-acclaimed 'Demon 79') is confirmed to be taking on the role of Anne Plunket (née Guinness), while Fionn O'Shea (Normal People) will play Benjamin Guinness.
Masters of the Air's Anthony Boyle will play Arthur Guinness and Louis Partridge (Enola Holmes) takes on Edward Guinness.
The remainder of the cast, so far announced, includes:
- Niamh McCormack (ITV's Everything Now) will play Ellen Cochrane
- Dervla Kirwan (True Detective: Night Country) will play Aunt Agnes Guinness
- Danielle Galligan (Shadow and Bone) will play Lady Olivia Hedges
- David Wilmot (Bodkin) will play Bonnie Champion
- Hilda Fay (The Woman in the Wall) will play Sultan
Following this announcement, Netflix's vice president of UK content Anne Mensah said: "Steve Knight's scripts read like pages torn out of a classic novel, spinning the story of the four heirs to the Guinness fortune, and how their lives and loves are changed by it overnight.
"We cannot wait to see this story come to life through Tom Shankland's [executive producer from production company Kudos] inspired vision and his breathtaking cast."
Kudos previously produced Steven Knight's This Town and SAS Rogue Heroes, both for the BBC, as well as Channel 4's Deadwater Fell (starring David Tennant, and now also available to stream on Netflix) and ITV's 1950s-set detective drama Grantchester, which has now been renewed for series 10.
While you wait for House of Guinness, SAS Rogue Heroes season two is returning to the BBC very soon, with a trailer recently shared.
The period drama became the third biggest new drama launch of 2022 for the BBC (only beaten by the Jamie Dornan-fronted The Tourist as well as The Responder, starring Martin Freeman and Adelayo Adedayo).
What other Steven Knight shows are in the works?
In addition to House of Guinness, Steven Knight is set to team with Ridley Scott for an ambitious 10-part World War II epic called Roads to Freedom (via Deadline). This was originally reported back in 2021, but there's been little in the way of updates for the project since then.
Let's also not forget that there's also a movie in the works for Steven Knight's biggest property, Peaky Blinders. The creator teased that the film was coming along nicely, before adding that "it's gonna happen this September..."
"I'm just doing the final polishes, which will continue up until the day before we start shooting. But we're there. We've got everything sorted, we've got all the commitments we need, we are ready to go," he said.
True to Knight's comments, a first look at Cillian Murphy's return as Tommy Shelby for the Netflix movie was released on September 30, 2024.
Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo and Barry Keoghan are among the new cast members for the Peaky Blinders movie, with returning cast members including Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck.
There's also an impressive roster of Steven Knight's TV shows already out there, if you're looking to catch up with his previous projects.
