Taskmaster's Little Alex Horne has found a TV job away from Greg Davies and this show he created, as he's been announced for Have I Got News for You.

While he's usually casting a confused eye over comedians as they attempt various tasks, this new role will see him guest-hosting and questioning the panelists on their knowledge of the week's political chaos.

Ian Hislop and Paul Merton will be serving as team captains as standard, while the guest panelists will be Carol Vorderman (her fifth appearance) and Jack Dee (his 21st appearance).

Interestingly, both Carol and Jack have served as guest hosts before, with Carol hosting just once and Jack hosting nearly 20 times.

"Although I suspect it's an admin error and they actually want me to pass the request on to my boss, I'm very excited to be hosting an episode of Have I Got News for You," he said.

"I am rarely in charge, whether at work, at home or by myself, so I'm hoping a hitherto undiscovered domineering side of my personality will be unleashed all over Paul and Ian."

The episode in question won't air this week, or even next week. It will be broadcast on Friday, June 7, and serve as the final episode of the current run.

The guest host for this Friday's episode will be Amol Rajan, while Victoria Coren Mitchell is set to guest-host the week after.

The current season of Taskmaster is airing on Thursday nights on Channel 4, and last week's episode featured the "worst attempt" at a task that Greg says he has ever seen.

Speaking of Greg, he's announced his first stand-up tour in seven years, with tickets on sale now.

Have I Got News for You airs Friday nights on BBC One, with an extended version on Sunday nights on BBC Two. Both versions can be streamed on iPlayer.
