The second Doctor Who 60th anniversary special has released a teaser clip ahead of its broadcast next Saturday (December 2).

Titled 'Wild Blue Yonder', it finds David Tennant's Time Lord and his companion Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate) in parts unknown – the TARDIS having crash-landed in a mysterious facility.

"Hello?" the Doctor's voice echoes down an empty corridor, while Donna asks where they are. Signs of life are soon located, but as we come to see, the two travellers may wish they hadn't been.

This comes after the first Doctor Who special 'The Star Beast', which aired on BBC One this evening (November 25) and introduced fans to a new-look TARDIS.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, showrunner Russell T Davies previously said of the magical phonebox's upgrade: "I think I said: 'Big and white', which it really is.

"I've got to say to Phil [Sims], who designed it, it's such a piece of engineering. You've got to be able to walk on those walkways and run around. That's a proper working studio, with health and safety practices and things like that. Oh, my God, it's a piece of work."

Davies went on to add: "I actually did love over the past few years, Clara flew off in a white TARDIS and then Jodie Whittaker had the fugitive Doctor and she had a white TARDIS and I loved the white TARDIS.

"I kind of spent a couple of years thinking: 'Oh, I like that', not knowing I was coming back. It's funny. I didn't know I was coming back and nonetheless, you do sit watching, thinking, Oh, I'd do this, I'd do that. So that was handy."

Doctor Who special 'Wild Blue Yonder' premieres December 2 on BBC One, with Disney+ streaming episodes elsewhere.
