Outnumbered star Hugh Dennis has joined the cast of upcoming Channel 4 drama The Couple Next Door.
He will play neighbour Alan Richardson in the psychological drama, alongside After Life's Kate Robbins as his wife Jean (via Deadline).
They join the likes of Outlander's Sam Heughan, Poldark star Eleanor Tomlinson, Harry Potter actor Alfred Enoch, and Pennyworth's Jessica De Gouw.

The six-part series follows couple Pete (Enoch) and Evie (Tomlinson) after they move to a new neighbourhood and befriend traffic cop Danny (Heughan) and his yoga instructor wife Becka (De Gouw) who live next door.

"As time goes on, these two couples get increasingly close to each other and, one fateful night, become sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever…" the show's synopsis continues.
In the show, Dennis' character Alan begins watching Becka through a telescope, unaware that his wife is aware of his voyeuristic tendencies and intends on taking revenge.
An exact release date for the show is yet to be announced, but it will premiere on Channel 4 in the UK this autumn and on Starz in the US and Canada in 2024.

Heughan recently appeared in Netflix rom-com Love Again alongside Priyanka Chopra as an unlikely couple who meet when a widow texts the number of her dead fiancé's mobile, only to find it has been assigned to a new user.
It also sees Celine Dion make her acting debut as she is enlisted by Heughan's character to track down the mystery woman.
"Isn't she wonderful? She's just such an incredible person," Heughan told Digital Spy. "I think she should have been in a movie, but I'm glad she saved herself for us and she's created five new original tracks for us.
"[She's] funny as well, which is really not surprising, because she's such a professional, but she's so good."
The Couple Next Door comes to Channel 4 in the UK this autumn and STARZ in the US and Canada in 2024.
