The first trailer for the new Amazon Prime Video series The Consultant, starring James Bond and Inglourious Basterds actor Christoph Waltz, has been released.

In the official teaser trailer, we are treated to a first look at Waltz in character as Regus Patoff, a business consultant.

"I offer a very simple service. My purpose is to improve the business, if it helps you to see me as a monster, so be it," Waltz says in his instantly recognisable voice as the trailer begins.

Based on Bentley Little's 2015 novel of the same name, The Consultant is described in its synopsis as a "comedic-thriller series that explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee."

During the trailer, Waltz's character, who's described by another player as a "sociopath", greets members of staff with a handshake and proceeds to sniff each and every one of them.

The teaser trailer is both exciting and unnerving, featuring a bound figure being tumbled into the back of a car in an apparent kidnapping, a mysterious character in an animal mask, and plenty of drama.
