Russell T Davies has delighted Torchwood fans after he shared a throwback clip of the Doctor Who spin-off.

The returning Doctor Who showrunner and It’s a Sin creator sent fans into a frenzy as he shared a snippet from the fourth and final series, Torchwood: Miracle Day, to his Instagram on Wednesday (October 19).

The explosive short – but memorable – clip sees Gwen (Eve Myles) hold a baby in a bunny costume, as she fires a gun through a broken window. He captioned the post, "Morning!" with an emoji of a baby and a gun.

While fans loved the reminder of the spin-off show, led by John Barrowman, Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd, others speculated whether this was a sign that Torchwood could make a comeback.

Torchwood ran for four seasons from 2006 until 2011, and the science fiction series saw the small team track down aliens and threats to human life out of their office in Cardiff.

While the show ended over a decade ago, Davies is set to return as showrunner and writer for the next series of Doctor Who, which will see Ncuti Gatwa take over from Jodie Whittaker as the Gallifreyan timelord.

Davies' return to the franchise could mean that other spin-off shows might have a revival, too. It seems that we'll all have to watch this space...

All episodes of Torchwood are available to watch on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
Doctor Who
