Crossfire spoilers follow.
The BBC's brand new thriller Crossfire aired its first episode tonight (September 20) and fans already have some theories about who is behind the horrific events.
The series, which sees "a holiday turn from heaven to hell in a second", is airing three consecutive episodes this week and has already got off to a nail-biting start.
The show stars Keeley Hawes as an ex-police officer whose holiday with her family is interrupted by shocking events.
Hawes' Jo and her husband are enjoying a family trip to a holiday resort with friends and lots of kids in tow.
Cracks in their marriage soon begin to show (someone's having an affair) but they are overshadowed when the luxury resort is plunged into chaos as armed gunmen descend on the hotel.
What to Read Next
In tense scenes tonight, the families were separated and the ex-police officer struggled to find her family including her teenage daughter from a previous relationship.
Individuals and groups hid from the gunmen but not all of the party were able to escape them in some highly emotional scenes.
Viewers of the gripping series premiere seem to all have the same theories about who is connected to the shootings – a suspicious-looking waiter from an early scene.
"Sorry but this blonde hotel worker dude is deffo involved," wrote one person.
While another tweeted: "Blonde waiter. I think he is possibly involved after picking up the knife at the end. Self preservation or preparation for something more sinister?"
"That young waiter with the phone is involved in some way," another added.
They won't have to wait long to check their theories as Crossfire will air again tomorrow (September 21) at 9pm on BBC One and all three episodes are already available on BBC iPlayer.
