The Bay season 4 officially filming as cast announced

The Bay season 4 has fired up the cameras in Morecambe.

ITV's murder-mystery thriller welcomes Marsha Thomason back as DS Jenn Townsend for her second series here, after replacing Morven Christie in the lead role. Regular cast members including Andrew Dowbiggin, Daniel Ryan, Erin Shanagher, Thomas Law, Barry Sloane, Georgia Scholes, Emme Haynes and David Carpenter are on hand, too.

Confirmed guest stars for The Bay's fourth outing include Joe Armstrong (Gentleman Jack), Claire Goose (Waking the Dead), Ian Puleston-Davies (Coronation Street, Pennyworth), Karl Davies (The Tower) and Christopher Coghill (Slow Horses).

The Bay series four will begin with the death of young mum Beth Metcalf, in what appears to be a targeted attack.

The coastal town's Murder Investigation Unit arrive on the scene and Jenn realises the deceased's heartbroken family will need all the support they can get, with Beth's husband Dean (played by Armstrong) processing the fact he's now a widowed dad of four.

"Marsha Thomason's casting in the last series was inspired, and Daragh Carville and the Tall Story Pictures team once again deliver a plot full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing to the end. Whilst all set against the dramatic coastline of Morecambe, with its glorious sea and skyscapes."

The Bay seasons 1-3 are available on ITV Hub, with its full boxset also available on DVD and Blu-ray.
