His Dark Materials star Ruth Wilson, who plays Mrs Coulter in the BBC adaptation of the hit Philip Pullman series, has revealed the third season is the "most ambitious" yet.
With anticipation ramping up for the final season of the show based on the third novel in the series, The Amber Spyglass, more hints have been dropping about what fans can expect.
Speaking to Radio Times at the BFI and Radio Times Television Festival, Wilson said: "[It's] definitely sort of the most ambitious, I think of the three."

"You have Mulefas and you've got so many different worlds to explore, and you've got to complete all these storylines. So you've got to kind of complete the stories for Lyra, for Mrs Coulter, for Asriel. It's a huge undertaking and you're in the midst of doing that.
She also explained how the season pulls a lot from the book, "It's huge themes and big ideas, so I think a lot of that comes in the third season. That's quite ambitious for all of us to deal with and to sort of put out there."

This echoes James McAvoy's comments where he described the final season as a war. He said: "It gets pretty down and dirty, and there's gonna be a lot of fisticuffs and a lot of explosions and all that stuff."

For Mrs Coulter, the final season will also delve deeper into her background, and particularly her relationship with her mother when she receives an outfit from her.
"In my head, [she's] linked up to the Magisterium, the Church... Mrs Coulter's mother was very much part of the Church. So that actually represents, for her, rules and patriarchy. And I think that Mrs Coulter was always a disappointment to her mother in that way.
"You'll see that my reaction to those outfits is not necessarily very nice. Being reminded of my mother again, and her power, and her influence," she said.
His Dark Materials airs on BBC One in the UK and HBO in the US.
