Doctor Who star Jodie Whittaker's final episode has officially been teased at the end of tonight's special, 'Legend of the Sea Devils', and it'll include a host of familiar faces.
The Easter special, the second of three to round off Whittaker's tenure, ended with a short trailer of her final adventure before she passes the baton onto the next Doctor.
In a description of the centenary special episode, coming out in Autumn 2022, BBC Doctor Who tweeted: "This is the day you die… The Thirteenth Doctor faces the forces that mass against her in her final adventure. Autumn 2022."

The trailer begins by saying, "Nothing is forever" in a poignant contrast to the end of the latest episode which saw the Thirteenth Doctor asking for her time to never end.
As the trailer progresses we catch a snapshot of the Doctor's classic enemies, including the Daleks, the Cybermen and a reprisal of Sacha Dhawan in his role of The Master. It will be the first time all have featured in one story since Doctor Who returned in 2005.

Speaking about the finale, showrunner Chris Chibnall said: "For the BBC’s Centenary, we’ll be celebrating the past, present and future of Doctor Who, in a fittingly thrilling, epic and emotional send-off for the Thirteenth Doctor."

However that is not the end of the familiar faces. Uniting in the Doctor's corner, the trailer also teased the return of classic Doctor Who companions Ace (Sophie Aldred) and Tegan Jovanka (Janet Fielding).
"In some ways it was a very different experience to what it was like when I finished recording in 1983, but in many ways it was very similar." Fielding told the BBC, "It was so lovely to be a working member of the Doctor Who family again!"
Aldred added: "It's been quite a challenge to have such a big secret to keep, even from my family, and I couldn't be more thrilled and excited to have been asked back. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I adored being part of the TARDIS team again."

As the two join forces, UNIT officer Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), Flux companion Vinder (Jacob Anderson), Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) will also all be returning for the epic finale.
The trailer ends with The Master proclaiming: "Welcome to the end of your existence," before we see a final shot of Whittaker regenerating as she shouts out for Yaz.
Doctor Who's special, 'Legend of the Sea Devils', is available on BBC iPlayer in the UK. In the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max.
