His Dark Materials season 3 could very well break our hearts, if star Amir Wilson is true to his word.
Slated to arrive on our screens in November, this closing chapter of the fantasy epic – consisting of eight episodes – adapts Philip Pullman's 2000 novel The Amber Spyglass, following the events of both Northern Lights (season 1) and The Subtle Knife (season 2).
"I think it's a lot darker, a lot sadder," Wilson, who plays Will Parry, told RadioTimes.com.

"It's definitely more emotional. I think it was definitely harder to film. There's a lot more going on, I think the introduction of a lot more characters as well. It's a lot to look forward to."
When he was asked to describe the final season in just three words, the Letter for the King star responded with "love, loss and death", which doesn't particularly bode well for our cast of parallel universe travellers.

Executive producer Jane Tranter also had this to say about what's coming up: "It's certainly bigger, it's certainly a little darker, but it's also more romantic.
"The third season of His Dark Materials is when all the questions of season 1 and season 2 finally are answered.
