Death in Paradise's Joséphine Jobert responds to new Florence exit rumours

Death in Paradise is no stranger to a mystery or two, and the future of DS Florence Cassell on the island of Saint Marie is one of them.

Unfortunately for fans, Joséphine Jobert is giving nothing away about her character's fate, after the latest episode saw the detective head to Jamaica for a drug-trafficking case.

Amid rumours that Joséphine may be leaving the BBC One series for good, the Death in Paradise favourite warned Instagram followers that she "can't" say anything yet.

Alongside a selfie uploaded to Instagram Stories over the weekend, she wrote (via Express.co.uk): "Thank you for watching yesterday's episode. I'm glad you liked it!

This isn't the first time Joséphine has kept coy over her character's future – just last week she denied to dismiss rumours of Florence's death, calling the speculation "interesting".

Opening up about the upcoming storyline, Joséphine explained: "I had to change my look for the storyline to o, so that was really, really fun to work out the look we wanted to get for Florence.

"I'm completely different, you can recognise me, but I'm very different from what I'm used to looking like!"

Promising plenty of tension, she added: "I think people are going to be super excited about it."

Death in Paradise airs on Fridays at 9pm on BBC One.
