Doctor Who director Nida Manzoor's breakout comedy We Are Lady Parts has been commissioned to return for a second season.
The sitcom, which follows all-female Muslim punk band Lady Parts, kicked off with a six-episode season in May this year, and has since been awaiting news about a renewal.
It's now been confirmed that the series will be back for a second season to air on Channel 4 in the UK and on Peacock in the US, but a release date is yet to be confirmed.
"I feel so incredibly lucky and excited to have the opportunity to make a second series of We Are Lady Parts," Manzoor, the show's writer, creator and director who has also worked on Enterprice and Hounslow Diaries, said in a statement.

Channel 4's head of comedy Fiona McDermott added: "We Are Lady Parts is the rallying cry from a fearlessly funny, contemporary and dial-shifting comedy that felt uniquely Channel 4 at its heart.
"The show deftly took big ideas around identity, representation, gender and creativity and wrapped them up in a truly original and hilarious show full of love, romance and sisterly power."
The first season followed the band through the eyes of Amina Hussain (Anjana Vasan), a microbiology PhD student looking for love.

Amina was recruited as the band's lead guitarist after enigmatic frontwoman Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey) saw something in her, and used Amina's desperation to find a husband as an advantage, offering to set her up with potential matches if she joined the band.
As the series continues and Amina began to perform alongside the band's other members – including drummer Ayesha (Juliette Motamed), bass player Bisma (Faith Omole) and manager Momtaz (Lucie Shorthouse).
It's not long before Amina is caught up in the joyful anarchic energy, and is quickly caught between the two worlds of her strait-laced uni friends and the punk spirit of the band.
While the plot details for season two are yet to be revealed, season one wrapped up with Amina overcoming her stage fright and finally taking centre stage, wowing the band's newfound fans.
With any luck, the second series will see the fully-fledged band continue growing their fanbase, and maybe even find love in the process.
Season one of We Are Lady Parts is available to stream now on All4.
