Good Omens star Michael Sheen teases new hair for season 2

Good Omens star Michael Sheen has given fans a sneak peek at his new hair transformation ahead of shooting the second season.

News dropped back in April that Sheen and David Tennant's Amazon Prime fantasy show had been renewed for another season, after a successful debut back in 2019.

Sheen's recent Twitter posts suggest filming for the second season is imminent, as he captioned both photos with a halo emoji, alluding to his role as an angel.

Good Omens is based on Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's 1990 novel of the same name, and follows angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen) and demon Crowley (David Tennant) who team up to save the world from the impending apocalypse.

Gaiman was also the showrunner for the first season, and will return as the co-showrunner and executive producer for season two.

When the new season was first announced, Amazon Studios confirmed that filming would take place in late 2021 in Scotland before launching on Amazon Prime Video. A release date is yet to be confirmed, but it almost certainly won't be until 2022.

When the renewal was announced, Sheen joked: "Personally I'm against it, but the world isn't going to just save itself, is it? If David and I can manage to not fall out too badly this time it may even have a chance of getting finished."

Gaiman is sharing showrunner duties with the first season's director Douglas Mackinnon for the new episodes. Mackinnon said in a statement: "Taking Good Omens to my home country of Scotland to film a second season is an exciting dream come true for me."

Gaiman added: "It's thirty-one years since Good Omens was published, which means it's thirty-two years since Terry Pratchett and I lay in our respective beds in a Seattle hotel room at a World Fantasy Convention, and plotted the sequel.

"I got to use bits of the sequel in Good Omens – that's where our angels came from. Terry's not here any longer, but when he was, we had talked about what we wanted to do with Good Omens, and where the story went next."

Good Omens is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. A second series has been announced.
