Death in Paradise boss talks Kris Marshall possible return

Death in Paradise is bringing back more than its fair share of favourites for series 10 (including Ben Miller's DI Richard Poole), but will we ever see the return of Kris Marshall and Danny John-Jules?

Kris and Danny starred as DI Humphrey Goodman and Officer Dwayne Myers respectively, but have since bid a fond farewell to Saint Marie and the series. It's not goodbye forever, though.

Ahead of Death in Paradise's return to BBC One in the New Year, executive producer Tim Key stayed intriguingly coy when asked whether Kris or Danny would consider flying out to Guadeloupe for a reunion.

"Never say never, but – yeah, that's all I'd say," he teased (via Radio Times). "I'm trying to be all mysterious, like it's some big... I wouldn't rule anything out."

Revealing continuing relationships with the former cast members, Key added: "The joyous thing is that we do genuinely all stay in touch and I'm in touch with Kris quite often as well, and I think that because they've got such affection for the show we wouldn't rule anything out if there was a good story to tell. Who knows..."

Death in Paradise continues with Ralf Little in the lead role as DI Neville Parker, but the show's 10th run will also see the return of Joséphine Jobert as DS Florence Cassell.

Sara Martins, who previously played DS Camille Bordey, is also back to help the show celebrate its milestone series – and there's even someone back from the dead joining the fun, too.

Now all we need is for Ardal O'Hanlon to change his mind.
