Giri/Haji has officially been cancelled after just one series, as the BBC and Netflix have decided not to renew the thriller for a second season.
The series, which was created by Joe Barton, follows a Tokyo detective called Kenzo Mori (Takehiro Hira) who travels to London to look for his long-lost younger brother Yuto (Yosuke Kubozuka), who's wanted for the murder of a Japanese businessman.
While in London, Mori meets Rodney Yamaguchi (Will Sharpe) and Met Police detective Sarah Weitzmann (Kelly Macdonald) during his investigation, and it's not long before his family's honour and the fragile peace between the warring gangs at home is at stake.

The show impressed critics and earned three BAFTA TV nominations, with Sharpe taking home the award for Best Supporting Actor, but RadioTimes.com has now confirmed that the show will not return for a second season.
"We are incredibly proud of Giri/Haji and the recognition that it achieved, however in order to create room for new dramas it will not be returning. We are very grateful to Joe [Barton] and the cast and crew for all their hard work on it," a BBC spokesperson said.

"Giri/Haji is a show of huge ambition and style, crossing cultures and continents in a way rarely seen on television, and we are so proud to have worked with creator Joe Barton and the amazingly talented team at Sister to bring the series to a global audience," a Netflix spokesperson added.
Giri/Haji was produced in collaboration with Sister Pictures, which admitted that it was "very disappointed" in the BBC and Netflix's decision.
"We're obviously very disappointed to not be going again with the BBC and Netflix as Joe Barton had so much planned for the characters," a spokesperson for Sister Pictures said.
"Everyone at SISTER is enormously proud of Giri/Haji and would like to thank our brilliant directors Julian Farino and Ben Chessell, Joe of course and the entire cast and crew who together have created something very special.
"We hope audiences will continue to find Giri/Haji and enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it."
Giri/Haji is available to stream now on Netflix.
