After Life season two spoilers follow.
After Life season two is almost upon us, and it seems it there are many surprises in store for viewers — including one incredibly awkward sex scene.
The moment in question sees Tony Way and Jo Hartley's characters Lenny and June get intimate in the bedroom, only for her son to walk in on them.
Opening up to Digital Spy and other media about the moment, the pair revealed that filming the scene produced plenty of outtakes, many largely down to creator Ricky Gervais.

"There are definitely outtakes," Tony explained. "I can guarantee you that Ricky has his own private stash somewhere of all of the bloopers from that scene [jokes].

"But we did OK. We were laughing a lot, but it was whenever we had to look at each other – when we came face to face, that was when we would laugh. I think we got over that, and then there was the addition of Ethan, and then that was hard.
"We got over it. It was Ricky cackling, because he was finding it more embarrassing and funny than — and he was ruining takes as well. Because you had that over there, at the monitor, going [impersonates Ricky's laugh]."
[Ricky Gervais and Penelope Wilton]
Jo added: "I think we did it quite quickly. We got a couple of good takes, but people were laughing, so he was like, 'Oh, no! We got that one. We have to do it again.' So we did it. I just popped myself into a position where I was like, 'OK, this is serious—'
"Literally! With my dodgy nightie on. It was just like, 'I'm going to focus and try to do this scene the first take, because I don't want to stay here all day.' And it was so funny. There was the cameramen and the grip and the crew."
[Ethan Lawrence and Jo Hartley]
Tony revealed that, despite the scene being set at night, they filmed it early in the morning, recalling: "We'd just had eggs and beans for breakfast. There's a load of crew with their bacon butties [laughs]. So it's very odd."
"Yeah. It's not glamorous," Jo said. "We got through it, and there was a lot of laughter. Everyone felt as awkward as each other. But yeah, we were taken care of. It was fun."
After Life season 2 launches on Netflix on April 24.
