So, Poldark just wrapped up the sixth episode of its fifth and final series, meaning there are only two outings left for topless, crop-hacking Aidan Turner. Not that he's been doing that recently, but you know.

This episode dealt with the heartbreaking demise of Ross Poldark's longtime friend Ned Despard, who was framed for a crime he didn't commit by the slimy and corrupt London gentry. Although he was spared from being drawn and quartered, he was still hung to death.
At the end of the episode, Ross returned to Cornwall to hug it out with Demelza and shed some tears over his friend's death.
And then... BOOM! Cut to black. Then cut to Ross waking up in a... cave? A well? Cut to credits and a next episode preview showing Demelza organising a search party.

What to Read Next
That's quite the cliffhanger, and completely out-of-the-blue. It all happened in what felt like the blink of an eye.
It's definitely a good way of getting people excited for the final two episodes (which are airing Sunday and Monday at 8pm, not 9pm), but also left viewers scratching their heads.
Poldark airs on BBC One in the UK. Series 5 will premiere in the US on Sunday, September 29 at 9/8c on PBS.
