As the show's fifth and final series approaches, Digital Spy sat down with the cast of Poldark to discuss the possibility of returning to Cornwall sometime in the future.

Starring The Hobbit's Aidan Turner in the title role alongside Eleanor Tomlinson (Demelza), Luke Norris (Dwight) and Jack Farthing (George), the BBC series has swept up audiences in its mixture of coastal romance and action adventure.

But with its impending conclusion on the horizon, does it leave open the opportunity for the gang to get back together?

Ross Poldark star Turner informed us: "It doesn't feel like an ending – I don't think that is the BBC being crafty and keeping it open-ended for another series in time, but [while] it feels right, it doesn't feel final final.

"I have no idea [if he would come back to Poldark]. I think Winston [Graham]'s books pick up a lot later – I think [Ross and Demelza's son] Jeremy, who is about 10 or 11, is about 21 or 22 in the next book. I'm afraid of saying anything and I don't want to detract from this series," he continued.

"In 10 years time, Debbie [Horsfield, creator/writer] may come with a script and it would be nice to revisit it and it might be something she is not interested in doing, and some of us aren't either."

Tomlinson stated that she wouldn't be interested at all, before pausing and adding: "Who knows? Wouldn't it be amazing – but who knows what will happen."

Eh?

Meanwhile, Norris shared that he'd "definitely come back in 10 years," because "it has been the privilege of my life for the last five years, so I would absolutely like to come back if they'd have me."

Farthing was also on hand to offer his opinion, noting: "I'd come back – how on Earth do you know what you are doing in 10 years time, though! – but I have absolutely adored the role. It has been great."

Poldark returns to BBC One on Sunday, July 14 at 9pm.
