Sherlock creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat's Dracula is coming out of the shadows.
A gory first look at the upcoming three-part BBC One and Netflix series reveals The Girl in the Spider's Web star Claes Bang quite literally sinking his fangs into the role of the undead count.
The two new-look photos have been released to announce the casting of Being Human's Lyndsey Marshal, Trollied actress Chanel Cresswell, Wild Bill actor Paul Brennen, Years and Years' Lydia West, Beautiful People star Sarah Niles, Everybody's Talking About Jamie's John McCrea and newcomer Millicent Wong.
They join the previously-cast Joanna Scanlan, Sacha Dhawan and Mark Gatiss himself as the inhabitants of Transylvania, where Count Dracula lurks in the darkness.
Gatiss and Moffat have promised a radical reinvention of the Dracula mythology, much like they did with Sherlock. In this version, the vampire will be seen as "the hero of his own story".
"There’s lots of things that are challenging about Dracula," Moffat recently told RT. "Having an evil lead character is actually really difficult. That's been the main challenge I think. But how we’ve handled, that you’ll have to wait and see."

Gatiss added: "It's been very exciting though. Because we sort of made a promise to ourselves and the people who are making it, paying for it, that we'd make Dracula the hero of his own story, and less of a shadowy presence."
Production on Dracula is ongoing, with no specific premiere date announced yet.
Dracula will air on BBC One in the UK and on Netflix outside of the UK and Ireland.
