Inbetweeners fans will no doubt be disappointed to hear that Emily Atack won't be reprising her role as Charlotte 'Big Jugs' Hinchcliffe in the show's forthcoming TV reunion, as the I'm a Celebrity star has revealed that she was axed from the show a day before filming began.

Speaking on Capital FM earlier today (Friday, December 21), Atack claimed that she was initially booked for the New Year two-hour special, only for producers to tell her she was no longer needed at the last minute. But she reasoned that "these things do happen" quite commonly in the industry.

When asked by the show's host Rob Howard why she was absent from the filming of The Inbetweeners: Fwends Reunited, the 29-year-old star said: "Unfortunately, I don't really know what happened there.

"I was booked to do it, was very much looking forward to doing it and then the day before, I was told I was no longer needed for it."

Ever the professional, the actress continued: "It's alright – these things do happen, and I think they just decided to go a different route with it, I don't know. Or it was to do with production timings and things.

"These things do happen and they're just doing a different route, I think, and I wish them all the best and I know it's going to be great and the fans won't be disappointed.

"It was all very professional and it's just business. It happens all the time. You get booked to do something and then something happens, plans change and then sometimes you're not booked anymore."

When Howard joked that producers did it over email, his remark wasn't denied by Atack.

She then laughed that she wouldn't be tuning in to watch it, before adding: "Of course I'll be watching it – because hopefully there'll be clips of me on there.

"No, I'll always support them. That programme was an incredible part of my life and always will be."

Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas will return for the one-off show, which will celebrate the three seasons of the TV series and the two movie spin-offs with never-before-told stories. It will also include behind-the-scenes footage and contributions from celebrity fans.
