Ashes To Ashes logged 5.02m (22.1%) for its penultimate episode on Friday, May 14.
The outgoing BBC One drama led the 9pm hour, sweeping ahead of Marco's Kitchen Burnout, which mustered 2.43m (10.7%) for ITV1. Embarrassing Bodies attracted 2.05m (9%) for Channel 4, while 1.99m (8.7%) tuned in for The Mentalist on Five.
Earlier on BBC One, The One Show and A Question of Sport delivered 4.09m (21.6%) and 3.69m (18%), and QI managed 3.46m (15.5%) at 8.30pm.
Dickinson's Real Deal attracted 2.86m (13.1%) to ITV1 at 8pm, and BBC Two's Mastermind and Gardeners' World put in 2.21m (10.1%) and 2.15m (9.7%) respectively.
Meanwhile, Glee attracted 580k (2.6%) to Channel 4 and Sea Rescue pulled in 317k (4.2%) for Five.
Overall, BBC One topped primetime with 22.6% to ITV1's 19.4%. BBC Two finished in third place with 7.6%, while Channel 4 and Five followed with 4.9% (+1: 0.8%) and 4.7%.
Elsewhere, Lost's penultimate instalment - 'What They Died For' - drew 508k (2.2%) for Sky1 in the 9pm hour.
