When Apple released the iPhone 7, it managed to distract everyone from the fact it wasn't a huge upgrade with the shiny allure of its Jet Black variant.
Now Samsung, looking to turn heads away from the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, appear set to employ literally the same tactic.
Earlier this week, the introduction of a glossy black variant — y'know, one glossier than the current black handset — was touted in a report from The Investor.
And thanks to freshly leaked images shown below, we could have our first look at the device which is set to release before Christmas.

As you might have already guessed, Sammy hasn't officially announced the device just yet, so make sure to add a slight helping of salt to this leak.

And while this would all appear to be an odd move from the company, its a more attractive option than sitting on its back and doing nothing until the release of the Galaxy S8 in February.
According to early leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will play host to everything from a 4K display to an in-built projector.
All will be revealed for sure in the new year – most likely late February or early March if recent Samsung launch schedules are anything to go by.
