Apple has reportedly approached a dozen artists about exclusive deals for its revamped Beats Music offering.

According to Bloomberg, Taylor Swift and Florence and the Machine are among the performers who have been asked to back the streaming music service.

With a new album from Florence and the Machine due later this year, Apple is pushing for limited streaming rights to a track in a bid to lure users.

Apple is said to be pulling out all the stops to integrate the service with existing services, including iTunes, iOS and Apple TV, and is even considering launching the app on Android.

Beats Music will have to contend with a number of big competitors, including the recently relaunched TIDAL platform which has large artist backing.

Last September, Apple denied claims that it was planning to shutter Beats Music altogether, but rumours suggest it may receive a new name.
