Earlier this year, we found out that McDonald's intends to begin delivering its illustrious nuggety goodness to the UK, and now it looks like it's one step closer.

The burger behemoth began running the service with Uber Eats in January in Florida, and now the company has rolled out McDonald's 'McDelivery' in over 1,000 locations across the United States.

The taxi company's food delivery spin-off already exists in London, so it seems only a matter of time before McDonald's rolls out the same service across the capital, then the wider UK.

It's already confirmed plans to launch the UK service this summer to us, so now we just need to play the waiting game.

Speaking to Digital Spy about when it could FINALLY launch in the UK, McDonald's said: "Following last month's announcement confirming a small delivery pilot which will be launched this summer, there is no further detail. Announcements will be made in due course, with regards to the detail behind the pilot in the UK."

But we want specific dates and times, Ronald. You hear?

Speaking to Digital Spy about its plans for UK delivery previously, a McDonald's spokesperson said: "It is no secret we have been looking at the potential of delivery in recent months.

"This service is offered in other markets around the world and its growth within the UK continues to gather pace.

"Listening to our customers, we know that this is a route they would like us to explore, and I can confirm that we are looking to launch a small delivery pilot this summer. Specific locations to be included within this pilot are yet to be decided."

In other McDonald's news, the company was forced to pull a controversial advert that some viewers felt made light of children who had lost parents.

The advert saw a young boy ask his mum lots of questions about his father who had passed away, and made it clear he wasn't very similar to his dad... except for his taste in McDonald's food and the way he ate it.

The Advertising Standards Authority confirmed that the commercial attracted more than 100 complaints before it was pulled.

A spokesperson for the restaurant told Digital Spy: "It was never our intention to cause any upset. We are particularly sorry that the advert may have disappointed those people who are most important to us – our customers."
