Facebook is introducing a new profile tags feature similar to that of its professionals-skewed rival LinkedIn.
The social network confirmed to The Verge that it is testing tags and revealed that they were created as part of an internal hackathon.

"Profile tags are a creative tool that lets you and your friends add tags to your profile to highlight the things that describe you and what you're into," Facebook explained.
Users can add their own tags and receive tags from friends by approval - what's more, you can use emojis too.
When a friend adds a tag on your profile, users will receive a notification with the option to accept - making the tag visible on their profile - or reject it.

Once tags are approved, other friends are able to like them, causing them to appear in descending order according to the number of likes.
