Netflix has announced a video game based on dystopian Korean drama Squid Game.
As part of a recent blog post titled 'What's Next For Netflix Games', it was confirmed that the game will be set in the same universe, with players able to "compete with other players in games from the hit series".
It is separate from the recently concluded reality series Squid Game: The Challenge.

Squid Game: The Challenge has already been renewed for season two, despite reported controversy on set.
The Squid Game game isn't the only one in development that's based on a Netflix TV show or movie.
A game based on Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder's two-part space opera starring Sofia Boutella and Ed Skrein, was announced back in August. It will be a "four-player co-op action game" that takes place between the first and second films.

Earlier this year, Netflix released a game based on chess drama The Queen's Gambit featuring Beth Harmon, who was played by Anya Taylor-Joy in the original series.
In December 2023, it also made three classic Grand Theft Auto games free for subscribers, meaning the mobile versions of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas can be downloaded to iOS/Android phones at no extra cost.
Other games coming soon to Netflix include Hades, Monument Valley and its sequel, and The Rise of the Golden Idol, the follow-up to The Case of the Golden Idol.
