Enjoying Final Fantasy 14 or World of Warcraft, and want to further enhance your experience? An MMO mouse may be worth considering.
There are a bunch of mice out there specifically aimed for use in MMOs. They often come with several additional buttons on the side of the mouse that can be pressed with your thumb, and the mice are designed to be comfortable to grip and use for hours on end.
Find the right one for you, and it's a massive quality-of-life upgrade to your setup. No longer do you have to awkwardly map all of your skills, actions, and spells on your keyboard around WASD.
What to Read Next
With your left hand considerably freed up, it has the added benefit of improving the movement control you have over your character.
So which ones are worth considering? Below, we have rounded up the most notable ones and where you can buy them. Given that we're in this year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday period, there are plenty of good deals going around as well.
Corsair Scimitar Elite
This mouse is our favourite and the one that we have used the most by far.
A huge selling point about Corsair's product is the fact that the 12 buttons on the side are on a patented 'slider' that can be positioned to take into account your hand and grip for maximum comfort.
The buttons themselves have the right amount of clickiness to them. They're also textured — often when you start using an MMO mouse, it can be tricky to instinctively know which button your thumb is hovering over, so we found this design helpful in mitigating some of that learning curve.
We've spent hundreds of hours playing Final Fantasy 14 with the Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite across several different DPS and healer classes, and the mouse has never let us down.
There is a wired and wireless variant, with the wireless being more expensive.

Razer Naga V2 Pro
Razer is a well-known brand, and fortunately its range of mice are reliable.
The Naga V2 Pro's steep price (it's usually £179.99) may put it out of many people's budget, but what you do get is an excellently-designed mouse that performs and feels like what you'd expect from a premium product.
The wireless mouse comes with 12 buttons on the side, but you can swap the side-plate out in favour of two other layouts (6-button and 2-button), which is neat.
The mouse wheel deserves to be discussed as well. It's customisable to the point where you can tweak how it feels to use.

Also definitely worth considering is the older version, the Razer Naga Pro. While it's not quite as flashy as the Naga V2 Pro, it is currently available at a much cheaper price of £85.99 on Amazon this Black Friday.
Razer Naga X
The Razer Naga X is one of Razer's mid-range offerings. While it looks similar to the Naga Pro and Naga V2 Pro, it lacks some of the more premium features (such as the swappable side-plates).
The Naga X has a decent 12-button layout, and is also notably light in terms of weight.
The Naga X's price is comparable to the Corsair Scimitar Elite RGB as far as wired mouse options go. And while it is a matter of preference which one is right for you, after spending significant time with both the Razer Naga X and the Corsair Scimitar Elite RGB, we personally much prefer Corsair's mouse. We prefer how the buttons feel to push, and the mouse itself was more comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
With the Razer Naga X specifically, we found ourselves regularly mis-clicking (particularly when trying to lift the mouse up). But your mileage may vary, as everyone is different — and a lot of people do enjoy the Naga X.

Logitech G600
A cheaper option and a favourite for many, the wired Logitech G600 is more than a solid pick if budget is a little tight.
Like the other mice on this list, it comes with 12 buttons on the side. It's durable, but also a rather heavy mouse.
The Logitech G600 is a little harder to come by in the UK, but you can often find it being sold on Amazon in the £50-£60 price range.
Those in the US can buy straight from Logitech's website for $59.99.
