Leica has teamed up with Disney to create a limited edition Q2 featuring drawings by famed animator Don Towsley from 1937.
This special edition camera, officially called the Leica Q2 Disney “100 Years of Wonder”, marks 100 years of the Disney film studios and celebrates the relationship between the two brands.
Disney originally used Leica technology in the early days of animation, with the term “Leica Reel” coined to define animated stills that are run on 35mm film projections.
What to Read Next
The body of the Q2 Disney features drawings from a model sheet dating back to 1937 as well as a top plate adorned with Mickey Mouse prints.
To make the Q2 Disney even more special, it's finished with material reminiscent of the tracing paper. This is intended to represent the paper on which Disney’s creators penciled scenes and characters.
In terms of specification, the special edition is identical to the regular Q2. That means it features the impressive 47.3-megapixel full-frame sensor and fast Summilux 28mm prime lens. These combine to provide truly impressive image quality, while the German build quality makes it one of the most premium mirrorless cameras around.
The special edition camera comes with a protective dust bag and rope strap with matching Disney graphics to create a very special collector's set.
