Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is being released on November 18, but the newest games aren't releasing on their own.

A new Nintendo Switch OLED model is also releasing on the same day, featuring red and purple Joy-con controllers and coloured doodles of pocket monsters, new and old, on the back. In addition, the dock features box Legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon on the front and part of a Poké Ball on the back.

The new Switch model will be released ahead of the games on November 4. While it isn't available to pre-order yet, the games are, and you can pre-order them physically (Scarlet/Violet) or digitally (Scarlet/Violet).

A new trailer was released on the same day the new OLED model was announced. It revealed three new Pokémon, the Rock-type crab Pokémon Klawf, and two version exclusives: the Fire/Psychic Armarouge which is Scarlet only, while Fire/Ghost Ceruledge is for players for Violet.

The trailer also focused on three main story threads that the games will follow. Alongside the typical quest to collect eight gym badges — in any order this time — and then challenge the Elite Four, there's also Team Star, a group of delinquents who have hauled themselves up bandit-camp-like bases.

In earlier trailers, we've seen the revelation of features like the Terastallize mechanic, which changes a Pokémon's type mid-match, speeding around on motorcycle-like Pokémon and cooperative exploration.

One gameplay tweak that has been announced but not showcased is the 'Let's Go' option, which allows your Pokémon to automatically defeat weak wild critters and gain experience without having to go into a battle.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released on Nintendo Switch on November 18.
