Terese confesses that she caused the gas leak while drunk, apologising for her actions but stressing that it was a one-time incident. She's hoping they can put it behind them, but once the unimpressed residents leave the meeting, Susan turns on Terese.
Betrayed by Terese's deceit and her culpability in Gino's brush with death, Susan criticises Terese for keeping her relapse to herself. Overwhelmed, Terese flees the meeting and is met with the anger of Moira, who has put two and two together and declares Terese to be the thief of her missing wine.
Paul confronts Susan and Karl, upset at the way they've reacted to a friend in need. But Paul sinks deep into self-hatred as he confesses that he did see the signs… he just ignored them out of an attempt to respect Terese's boundaries.

The next day, ready to make amends, Terese asks Susan to manage Eirini Rising in her absence, but Karl and Susan stun her with a request that she step down from her role permanently.

Meanwhile, Remi can't help feeling nervous about how Felix's offer has been the catalyst for Cara's new doubts about using an anonymous donor. JJ and Dex give their permission for Felix to move back on the street, and a delighted Andrew invites them to a celebratory barbecue.
JJ notices an unusual tension between his mums. Following them, he overhears them agree Felix is a trigger. They expect having him on the street is going to make things harder and Remi suggests they table their baby plans until they're in a better place.
JJ agonises over what to do, seeing with his own eyes how genuine Felix is in his attempts to be a better person, and makes the ultimate sacrifice for the sake of his family. He asks Felix to leave. Not just the street, but Erinsborough.
